In this case, Newcastle city officials have sinted an agreement with BT as part of its Wireless Cities program to develop and deploy a wireless network that will be accessible to all who wish to use it. The goal is to have the network up and running by this coming March. Plans call for equipment to be installed on street fixtures and lamp posts in the city center.
