Blood pressure patients today maybe luckier, suggests results of the Ascot study

Experts observing drug trials in the Ascot study have reported in The Lancet that newer drug therapies have been so effective in managing blood pressure to prevent strokes and heart attacks, auguring a need to change prescribing practices. They suggested that the today’s drug effectiveness in lowering cholesterol and blood pressure has resulted in the halving of stroke and heart attack risk.
