Local author keeping a close eye on Hurricane Rita

No one in Seattle may be watching the approach of Hurricane Rita with more foreboding than writer Erik Larson. His 1997 best seller, "Isaac's Storm," provided a heart-pounding account of the deadliest hurricane in U.S. history, the unnamed storm that hit Galveston, Texas, without warning in 1900 and claimed 6,000 lives.
