Being obese hinders detection of prostate cancer

Filed under: Prostate Cancer In Forbes magazine today reported that doctors have a harder time finding prostate cancer in obese men, this could delay a diagonsis and increase the risk of death. Apparently diagnosing prostate cancer is hard for anyone, but even more difficult if a man is overweight. It can lead to missing the cancer entirely. The study which found that it is 20-25 percent less likely to diagnosis prostate cancer in obese men will appear in the February issue of the Journal of Urology.
