Amgen's Cancer-Drug Staves Off Disease

Amgen Inc.'s latest cancer fighter turned out to be an even better warrior than expected, the biotech giant announced yesterday. A study showed the treatment resulted in a higher rate of tumor shrinkage and slower tumor progression than anticipated, the company said. Colorectal cancer is the third most common kind of cancer in America, with 100,000 new cases diagnosed annually.
