Guilty verdict in Newkirk trial

Wake County jurors convicted Ezavia Allen today on multiple counts of armed robbery and a first-degree murder charge. They are expected to begin to decide this evening whether he should be put to death for killing retired school teacher Shirley Newkirk, or face life in prison.
