Oops, Sony Did It Again: PS3 Won’t Play Some Old Games
15th Nov 2006, 01:26 GMT
That’s one way to sell games ... Turns out the Playstation 3 isn’t completely backwards compatible with all games for previous Playstations despite previous statements to the contrary. Some games have hiccups—music that doesn’t play, freezes, virtual misfiring guns—while others don’t play at all. AP: Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said online upgrades of the PS3 software will be offered, but it’s unlikely that all the problems will ever get fixed. He also said the incompatibilities were outlined on Sony’s Japanese site just prior to launch.
