SHIFT IN FOCUS: Clamoring for Toyota

A year ago, a few suppliers to Toyota Motor Corp.'s plant in San Antonio found a problem while they geared up for production of the new Tundra pickup. They needed to ship parts to the Midwest for standard corrosion-resistant painting that no one in Texas could do. That meant a future of endless freight bills that add cost and reduce profit.
