Individual investors retreat from stocks

Individual investors, a driving force behind the stock market rally of 2005, are pulling out in the wake of the Livedoor Co. scandal. The share of individuals in the trading value on the nation's three largest exchanges has fallen after exceeding that of foreign investors in December for the first time since April 1996.
