After-school snacks: Trees made of cheese
8th Sep 2005, 16:58 GMT
Help your kids get into the spirit of autumn by creating a snack that reflects the changing colors of the season. From the pages of Family Fun comes this neat idea: Use cookie cutters to cut various leaf shapes from different colors and kinds of cheese slices (cheddar, swiss, colby-jack). Use a pretzel rod (or thin breadstick) to create a tree trunk and pretzel sticks for branches and arrange the cheese leaves on a plate. Preschoolers, especially, will enjoys creating their autumn trees and then gobbling them up—leaves, trunks, branches, and all! I know I will be trying this out on my daughter’s preschool when it’s my turn to provide munchies. Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments © 2005 Weblogs, Inc.
