Report: Housing permits issued in Utah dropping

SALT LAKE CITY -- The housing boom in Utah may be slowing as the number of permits issued for residential buildings have fallen 4.5 percent this year, according to a University of Utah report. Permits issued in the first nine months of 2006 fell to 20,387 from 21,347 from the same period last year, according to the university's Bureau of Economic and Business Research.
