Man pleads for Herceptin

Filed under: Breast Cancer, Drug A man received a mastectomy and chemotherapy after he was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2005. Mr. Weaver of Maidstone in Kent has reported to the BBC that he is now pleading to get Herceptin, a new breast cancer drug, in order to prevent his cancer from returning. This new drug has only been tested on women and is not widely used to due to the expense. The drug in has not been tested on men. Mr. Weaver is confident he will be given a perscription by June.
