5th Sep 2005, 13:36 GMT
Consortium meetings are held biannually in conjunction with the US and European supercomputing conferences. The last meeting was in June 2005, in Heidelberg, Germany. Participants represent a broad range of computing applications and environments. The meeting format is designed to give participants the opportunity to present recent developments, discuss applications and needs with their peers, and to hear and provide feedback on Sun's engineering plans. In addition to the general program the Consortium now has two special interest groups (SIGs) for Computational Biology , Grid and Portal Computing. More information on the HPC Consortium can be found at http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/edu/commofinterest/hpc/consortium.html.
