Rockies, Matsui agree on 1-year deal

Kaz Matsui, who is trying to resurrect his career in Colorado after floundering in New York, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Rockies for 2007. The speedy 31-year-old Japanese infielder hit .267 with 3 homers and 26 RBIs in 70 games for the Rockies and Mets combined last season. With the Rockies, he hit .345 with two homers and 19 RBIs and had a .392 on-base percentage in 32 games.
