Waist-to-hip ratio more accurate indicator of heart attack risk than BMI: study

A strong indicator of your chances of getting a heart attack might be your waist-to-hip ratio, a Canadian study encompassing people from different countries has found. The INTERHEART investigators show that the population risk attributable to waist-to-hip ratio is much larger than the population risk attributable to body mass index (BMI).
