(Reuters) - The Stanford Racing Team from Menio Park, California hold their $2 million check after being declared the winners of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) 2005 Grand Challenge in Primm, Nevada October 9, 2005. Some 23 robotic ground vehicles started the 241 km (150 mile) desert road test, but only five finished it. Stanford's winning entry, which was named 'Stanley', posted a time of 6:53:53.
