Gates, Buffett on stage
2nd Oct 2005, 20:07 GMT
Gates and Buffett. (AP/Nati Harnik) Bill Gates and Warren Buffett talked with students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Friday on subjects including ethics, bridge, and whether Gates would ever consider succeeding Buffett at his Berkshire Hathaway investment company. (Gates is a member of the Berkshire board.) "It won't be me," Gates said, according to the Associated Press story. "Berkshire's got a lot of great people who understand their system." Gates is wearing a Harvard sweatshirt in the photo at right, but not in some of the other photos from the event. The AP story explains that he took off the sweatshirt as a joke after Buffett teased him about dropping out of college. Also see coverage by the Lincoln Journal Star. Tickets for the event were in high demand, according to this previous story in the Daily Nebraskan. The pair made a similar appearance in 1998 at the University of Washington that resulted in a video program.
