Carstens expected to miss season

16th Nov 2006, 12:34 GMT

Panthers DT Jordan Carstens is out of the hospital nearly a week after being admitted with a blood clot on his left lung. Carstens was released from the hospital Tuesday, six days after being hospitalized for chest pains. Carstens started 15 games last season, but played in only one game this year after the return of Kris Jenkins from a knee injury. Carstens was the only player listed as out on the Panthers' injury report Wednesday.
