Hassan Rayess is a patient man. He has the calm of an artisan and the intelligence of an entrepreneur. "My job requires fortitude and perseverance," he says. "More than 20 million shoes from many different countries flood the market every year. It's not easy to compete," he adds, "but I love the trade."
