High Score: Kotaku Goes Postal

Has it only been a week? Kotaku was crammed full of gaming goodies last week. Our moles confirmed that Best Buy is getting a frighteningly small supply of 360s to sell, so unless you pre-ordered you might want to check out alternatives like Atari's retro-loving Flashback 2.0. My rants that the Nintendo Micro is way over-priced were proven true when someone tore one apart and found about $44 worth of parts inside. Wow, that's a huge mark-up. (Yes, I know that doesn't include development and market costs.) Nintendo's van came a visiting, bringing with them tons of games for me to check out. In Japan, Brian Ashcraft got his hands on a copy of Princess Peach, which apparently rocks. In Vancouver, Luke sat down with Super Mario Strikers. In the world of software, Sid Meier says he is considering making another Alpha Centari, but doesn't have time quite yet and Blizzard decided it would be fun to pick on the founder of Slashdot while he was playing World of Warcraft. Finally, the week's trifecta of absurdity: Kotaku was nominated for an award for best gaming blog by Spike TV, the much lauded touring video game concert Video Games Live was canceled for a lack of ticket sales and Uwe Boll is turning Postal the game into Postal the movie and it's gonna feature Gary Coleman.
