Google Plans OpenOffice Development

When Google recently (and vaguely) partnered with Sun Microsystems, it was widely speculated that Google would acquire, or distribute, or massage, or somehow stick its hands into OPenOffice, the free productivity suite that provides a viable alternative to Microsoft Office components. Google and Sun downplayed all such speculations. Now, though, according to CNET reporting, Google plans to hire personnel specifically to develop OpenOffice.
