Gina Kolata continues for the NY Times (1.11.2005) her article series on how to prevent cancer. Second piece is on exercise. Does it have an effect in cancer prevention? Actually, evidence is small. For breast cancer exercise makes only a small effect, and according to a researcher it makes no difference to an individual woman.
