An Fannin County inmate being transported through Tyler this afternoon took an unplanned detour. The police unit he was riding in crashed at the intersection of 69 South and Heritage street. The Fannin County deputy says a Honda Accord tried to turn left in front of him, and the police cruiser couldn't stop in time.
