Georgia: Separatist Vote Illegitimate
14th Nov 2006, 21:06 GMT
Georgian officials have declared the Ossetian referendum on independence illegitimate. The shouts of independence have been ignored around the world. Russia, who has supported the break away province, has fallen short of supporting the vote. The break away province wants to be incorporated into neighboring Russia. Ossetians already carry Russian passports and Russia has cultivated strong political ties with the small mountainous region in the past years. Summary By Partisano
