Statins fuel lower 'bad' cholesterol levels among Americans

Though obesity is increasing in Americans, their blood cholesterol levels are better now compared to four decades ago, a study has said. The development follows the introduction of the statin drugs in the 1980s. These drugs lower the level of 'bad' cholesterol and thus prevent heart attacks due to clogged arteries.
