Britain throws weight behind Annan in bid to salvage reforms

Britain has played a key role shoring up the position of Kofi Annan, the beleaguered United Nations Secretary General, in the hope of salvaging a last-ditch deal on UN reform and a denunciation of terrorism at this week's summit.
