Filed under: Breast Cancer, Drug Women with hormone-sensitive early breast cancer are getting benefits from the drug Novartis's Femara. The Swiss drug maker presented data at the 28th annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in Texas revealing that the aromatase inhibitor showed a benefit in starting therapy up to five years after the end of standard tamoxifen treatment. In a press relaes Novartis claimed, "Postmenopausal women who switched from placebo to Femara experienced a 69-percent reduction in the risk that their breast cancer would return."
