Akron and Cleveland are Jumping on the Urban Revival Bandwagon

Cleveland's mayoral candidates both promise to breathe new life into one of the nation's poorest big cities. Challenger Frank Jackson stresses safer streets and stronger schools while incumbent Jane Campbell points to her record of revitalizing downtown. Downtown living may be the next big thing in Northeast Ohio. New houses, apartments, lofts, and condos are already attracting renters and owners to downtown Cleveland and Akron while major new developments are under construction or on the drawing boards. The future of the new urban housing boom depends on how much developers, and potential residents are willing to risk: WKSU's Vivian Goodman reports.
