'Shut Up and Sing' is an inspiring story of pluck, but its politics fall flat

Barbara Kopple and Cecila Peck fail in their attempt to parallel the Dixie Chicks' career with the politics of the Bush administration, but succeed in creating a portrait of a singer who becomes a megalomaniac in the media spotlight.
