Brooks' son still in awe of 1980 Miracle
14th Nov 2006, 02:26 GMT
Dan Brooks was a wide-eyed boy of 12 when he watched his father, Herb Brooks, coach the 1980 U.S. Olympic team and the "Miracle On Ice" still fills him with awe. Herb Brooks, who lost his life in an automobile accident in August 2003 in his home state of Minnesota, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame builders' category Monday. He was represented by his son, who humbly accepted the glittering ring but declined to wear it out of respect for his dad's accomplishments.
