Fedorov won't play for Russia at Olympics
14th Dec 2005, 07:56 GMT
Columbus Blue Jackets centre Sergei Fedorov has removed his name from consideration for the Russian team at the February Olympics in Turin, Italy. The 36-year-old played for Russia at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano and the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, but decided not to participate in 2006 so he could rest his injured groin. "As much as I would enjoy representing my country in Italy, I'm afraid that at this point in the season my focus has to remain with the Columbus Blue Jackets," Fedorov said in a release Tuesday.
