Tarceva gets FDA go-ahead for pancreatic cancer treatment

Lung cancer drug Tarceva has obtained approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in pancreatic cancer treatment, the drug's makers Genentech Inc and OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc said on Wednesday. The drug can now be used in combination with gemcitabine chemotherapy for treating late-stage pancreatic cancer in patients who have not undergone chemotherapy earlier.
