Producer prices drop at record pace

Inflation at the wholesale level plunged at a record pace in October, led by big declines in the price of gasoline and new cars. Even excluding the volatile food and energy categories, underlying inflation fell 0.9 percent, the biggest monthly decline in 13 years.
