JUDGE'S RULING ON MALKIN A VICTORY FOR NHL

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be able to retain the services of super rookie Evgeni Malkin after all. Yesterday, Judge Loretta Preska of the U.S. Federal District Court in Manhattan dismissed an action filed by Malkin's former Russian team, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, asking that he be barred from playing in the National Hockey League because he breached a legal contract with the club.
