Natural Mutation Confers Drug Resistance on HBV

GIESSEN, Germany — There is a naturally occurring variant of the hepatitis B virus that makes it resistant to the second-line agent Hepsera (adefovir), but not to Viread (tenofovir), researchers here reported.
