Authorities on Sunday arrested a man they say fatally shot a sheriff's deputy Saturday night. Broward County sheriff's officials said Deputy Brian Tephford was shot and killed late Saturday after making a traffic stop in suburban Fort Lauderdale. "Brian's killer is in custody," Sheriff Ken Jenne said, his voice breaking during a televised news conference. "This was a heartless, cold-blooded assassination." The slaying suspect and the two other male suspects had not been charged by Sunday evening.
