Filed under: Cingular, Verizon, 8700, 7130e PC World magazine senior associate editor Grace Aquino is out with her annual "Best Cell Phones of 2005" picks. Aquino presents her picks by carrier- i.e., the best cell phones each major carier offers. As to Cingular (AT&T) phones, Aquino suggests the BlackBerry 8700c. "It's a tad smaller and thinner than older BlackBerrys," she writes, "has a brighter screen, and supports the EDGE network for relatively speedy Web connections." And for Verizon Wireless, Aquino praises the BlackBerry 7130e. Correctly noting that the 7130e is the first BlackBerry to work on Verizon's fast EvDO data network, "the 7130e combines numeric and alphabet keys onto one keypad; the handset automatically recognizes when you're in messaging mode so you can use the alphabet keys instantly," she writes. "The large screen makes Web browsing a pleasure, too." Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
