AMD to recall 3,000 Opteron processors with heat problems

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. announced on Friday that it was recalling around 3,000 Opteron processors, which seemed to give inconsistent results when overheated. AMD said the problem affected single-core Opteron 152, 154, 252, 254, 852 and 854 processors that were manufactured late in 2005 or early this year.
