It is widely agreed that Alan Greenspan has been an outstanding Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank. Over the years ahead, Fed chairmen will surely want to extend Greenspan's record of policy success. But I ask this question: What are the characteristics of the Greenspan policy regime that have led to policy success?
