A number of Western nations criticized oil producing countries in OPEC for failing to curb the surge of crude prices, warning that the price of energy is crippling the global economies. Britain's Treasury chief on Sunday blamed OPEC for high gasoline prices that have sparked threats of protests by British farmers and truck drivers.
