Lender to settle claims of cheating

Ameriquest Mortgage Co., the largest home loan lender to people with bruised credit, will pay $325 million -- including more than $12 million to Michigan residents -- to settle claims that it cheated customers by misrepresenting loan terms and securing inflated appraisals.
