Three LoC points start next week to help quake-hit

New Delhi, Nov 5 : India and Pakistan will create history when three crossing points along the hitherto inviolable Line of Control (LoC) to help the victims of the Oct 8 earthquake become operational next week. The first crossing point at Chakan da Bagh in Poonch will be opened Monday. The crossing point at Kaman (Uri) will start functioning Nov 9 and the one at Tithwal (Tangdhar) the next day. "In pursuance of the agreement reached with Pakistan on Oct 29, 2005, in Islamabad on opening five crossing points across the LoC for facilitating movement of people and relief material for earthquake relief, work is underway to operationalise them," the external affairs ministry said in a statement.
