Group says strike led to more workplace accidents

A coalition of labor and environmental groups claim the Cognis Corp. plant in Winton Place saw a sharp spike in environmental and work-place accidents last year. They blame the increase on ownership changes at the plant and a strike that put 270 local steelworkers on the picket line in February.
