The network is getting a ginormous jump on the 2006 Fall season by making a 13-episode commitment for a new sitcom from the creator of Friends and the creator of UPN's Half & Half . Sources say that CBS made the bold move because it was involved in a bidding war with the other networks that ended in a 7-figure sum. The new sitcom is going to be called The Class and seems like a mix of Reunion and How I Met Your Mother, minus the dead body and Doogie Howser. The pilot begins with a 27-year-old throwing a party for his girlfriend that recreates the moment they first met in the 3rd grade. He invites six fellow 3rd grade classmates to the party, and well....you get where this is going. We'll have to wait an entire year to see if Class is worth it's weight in gold and hype.
