Get Out The Vote For Reform: Join The 10×10 Campaign

Don’t believe the negative polls. Don’t believe the bad press. And, whatever you do, don’t listen to Warren Beatty. California’s Special Election tomorrow is about reform, which is the reason Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected into office. Of course, changing bureaucracy and challenging entrenched interests never comes without resistance, and so things haven’t played out as easily as an action-hero movie. There’s no question that we’ve got a major fight ahead over the next 36 hours, and the final battle will play itself out in the ballot box tomorrow. In order to win, we call upon all concerned Californians to participate in a collective effort to get out the vote. It’s very simple: Share the important election information with your friends and colleagues. If 10 people each send an email to only 10 others, the message for reform has touched 100 readers. If those people email 10 others, that number grows to 1,000. If those people email 10 others, that number climbs to 100,000. And if those people email 10 more, the message has reached 1,000,000. It’s not rocket science. It’s the power of viral marketing. It’s as easy as this: (Sample email) Dear Friend, Tomorrow, November 8 is a very important date. Together, we have the opportunity to vote for critical reforms in California. Just cut-and-paste the text into a new email and send to 10 people who you think should learn about the issues. If you want to embellish, add this: ****Optional**** It’s time to shake up the status quo, and every vote counts. You’ve probably heard some of the negative advertising against Gov. Schwarzenegger. But as we all know, anytime someone tries to change things it rocks the boat of established interests. Don’t believe the hype. The opposition is desperate and will say anything, fighting to keep business-as-usual. The reforms are common sense: Improve education by improving the quality of teachers; curb runaway spending by state government; require unions to ask permission before taking money from paychecks to use for politics; and create competition during elections.
