Sun will to open up Java, but no firm date is set

SAN FRANCISCO - Sun Microsystems said that it is committed to making Java an open-source product, but had not yet figured how to do it, according to Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz. His comments were made in a keynote address at the JavaOne Developer Conference.
