Baton Rouge balloons with evacuees

While New Orleans is known for the French Quarter and great restaurants, this normally unhurried college town is better known for its politicians and soaring state Capitol. But in a week, Baton Rouge has become the largest city in Louisiana — with a parish-wide population that may triple to 1 million. Suddenly there are traffic jams and lines of cars at gas stations. There's been a run on guns and tear gas by wary residents. Hotel rooms are booked. And homes are selling overnight — sometimes sight unseen.
