(AP) - Philippine Deputy Director-General Avelino Razon briefs foreign correspondents Tuesday Nov. 14, 2006, at a hotel in the financial district of Makati city east of Manila, Philippines. Razon said the organizers of the Dec.11-13 ASEAN Summit in the central Philippine island of Cebu made a last-minute venue change due to delays in the construction of a convention center. The summit will be held in Shangri-La Hotel on Mactan island, near Cebu, instead of the Cebu International Convention Center. Razon said authorities had not monitored any threats, but have deployed an additional 7,000 police and 3,100 soldiers along with the thousands of security forces already in Cebu.
