SEATTLE -- A strong Pacific storm system was dumping snow in the mountains across much of the Northwest on Sunday, and forecasters were warning of heavier mountain snowfall overnight, as well as high winds along the Oregon and Washington coasts. Up to a foot of snow had fallen in some areas of Cascades' western slopes by midday Sunday, said Dennis D'Amico, a meteorologist in the National Weather Service's Seattle office.
