During the lean years of World War II, potlucks served as an opportunity to socialize with neighbors and stretch scarce resources. While gas and food rationing made it an imperative gathering then, having potlucks has evolved into a tradition that thrives 62 years later in Lathrup Village, a tiny hamlet next to Southfield where folks really do know one another's names.
